A religious leaders meeting was held at the ACAT center
The activities that take place at the ACAT Center are multicultural and religious related, therefore and in this context, we initiated a panel discussion between religious leaders from Israel's north region. Father Pilatius - pastor of the Orthodox Church, Sheikh Samir Asi - the Imam of the Al Ghazar Mosque in Akko, and Carmel Irandoust – Deputy Secretary of the Bahá'í community.
Three of them spoke on our auditorium stage, about the differences and resemblance between the different religions, the closeness and distance between them, and the unifying concept that Akko seeks to carry on and spread to the entire world. Due to the complexity within the backgrounds and the people in Israel, we believe that active and ongoing interfaith interaction is a key to recognition and change of consciousness, and this may promote social change in Israel.
